Huajillo This light, airy, multitrunked tree is a perfect companion to cactus and agaves in the dry garden. The fern-like foliage gives a delicate soft texture when everything else is rigid and structured. In spring, creamy white puffball-like flowers cover the branches and are pleasantly scented. Nearly thornless, this acacia is easy to work around--providing protection from the heat of the sun but allowing bright enough light for desert succulents to thrive.
