Agave funkiana 'Hakuro Shiro Fukurin'
Y11-60 — Zone 8b to 10— Garden origin
The Japanese cultivar name for this plant, 'Hakuro Shiro Fukurin', is quite a tongue twister and just might make you blush but its English translation, " frosty white margin " is quite benign. The plant produces long, dagger-like leaves like some forms of Agave lophantha. The leaves are dark green in color but have a narrow white band that runs along the margins. The leave margins are lightly armed with small papery teeth that reportedly flake off with age. A very unique plant worthy of pot culture everywhere and outdoor garden culture where it is hardy.
