Agave gypsophila 'Blue Wave'

Blue Wave Agave! This agave clone came to us years ago as Agave americana 'Blue Wave'. It somewhat has the look of Century Plant, like A. americana, but without the hardiness of A. americana and it is a much smaller plant. After growing it and clones of A. gypsophila in our collection we believe this plant is probably a form of A. gypsophila or at least a hybrid with it. The plant has wide, wavy blue leaves of a thick succulent nature that undulate and ripple dramatically giving each leaf the look as of a flag on a breezy day.

Visitors to Yucca Do have admired this plant for years but until recently we have not had enough to share.
