Agave lophantha 'Splendida'
Y12-17 — Zone 7 to 10— Garden Origin
This broad leaved, yet compact selection of Agave lophantha was introduced by Ted Stevens of Nurseries Caroliniana. This selection has broad, dark-green leaves which are punctuated by a prominent, bright-green strip running through the middle. The leaf margins are lined with numerous stout spines, which are wicked to the touch but add such sparkle and shine to this splendid clone's overall appearance that the few ouches uttered here and there and the occasional drop of blood can easily be forgiven.
