Agave schidigera 'Shira ito no Ohi'

Shining Daggers! This Japanese selection of Agave schidigera has a tight, compact and symmetrical form which is perfect for pot culture. Each sword-shaped leaf is highlighted by various shades of light to dark green and edged in yellow with short white hairs (filifers) flaring out from the leaf's edge making this drought tolerant succulent highly ornamental. On bright sunny days the combined effects of glossy green and variegated leaves and numerous shinny filifers are nearly blinding to the eye, so sunglasses may be useful for the eyes and gloves for the hand.
