Agave titanota
Y10-23 — Zone 9b to 10— Mexico
The alabaster-white coloration of this plant's leaves makes it one of the most prized species for Agave collectors. The 2' long leaves average about 5 in. wide and are broader near the tip and narrower at the base. The margins of the leaves are lined with varying degrees of teeth from nearly toothless to broad papery saw-tooth-like projections. The seedlings we offer are from the Rancho Tambor population in Oaxaca, Mexico described by Howard Scott Gentry in his monumental work on the genus Agave. This population is generally all white, though green-leaved plants do exist in adjacent areas so seedling variation is in play here.
