Aloe boylei
D24-83 — Zone 7 to 9— South Africa
Boyle's grass aloe! This grass aloe grows at elevations of 2000' to 5900' in a fairly long strip of the eastern areas of South Africa. The leaves are green but are freckled with cream spots near the leaf bases. These leaf bases can be up to 4 in. wide and are considered the broadest of the grass aloe group. Numerous soft teeth line the leaf margins and glow with the right backlighting. In late spring salmon-pink blooms occur in congested heads at the top of 24 in. to 36 in. tall, non-branching flower spikes.
