Aloe brevifolia
Y02-16 — Zone 8b to 10— South Africa
Short leaf aloe! This beautiful species is quite moisture tolerant and able to withstand fairly cold temperatures, down into the upper teens, with minimal damage. It is a compact plant with short and fat waxy, blue leaves that are edged in small, white spines. At first glance you would think that it was a huge hens and chicks and not an aloe. In time it offsets to form a large cluster of heads. Because of its size it makes a excellent edging plant in the dry garden.
