Transvaal Zebra! According to the book in. Guide to the Aloes of South Africa in. by vanWyk and Smith, this plant is not a separate species but one of several forms of the highly variable Aloe zebrina. This particular form is found in the area near Pretoria at approximately 6600' in elevation which could indicate a bit of cold hardiness. The rosettes grow to a medium size and tend to offset freely. The leaves are a dull greyish green and are often heavily spotted. The flower spikes are open and sparsely branched to 3' to 4' tall, carrying pink flowers.
