Aloe x nobilis
Golden Toothed Aloe
This Aloe x nobilis clone was given to us years ago by Tom Peace. Over the years that we have kept it in our container collection it has always been highly admired. In overall form, it is a clustering, mounding plant composed of numerous, compact, 5" x 5" rosettes. Each rosette has numerous, narrow-angular, 4" long leaves that are covered with creamy colored spots. Many of the spots rise up slightly from the surface of the leaf and form small prickle-like spines or teeth. These non-hurtful prickles occur on the leaf margins and both surfaces of the leaves and give a great deal visual dazzle to the medium green leaves. In spring or early summer, 24" flowers spikes arise above the mounding rosettes showcasing rich, bright-orange flowers.
