Scarlet bottlebrush!
This medium to large growing shrub has 3-inch long, dark-green leaves that taper to a sharp point. New leaves flush a striking reddish color, which keeps this plant interesting in the landscape even when not in flower. The plant blooms periodically from mid-summer until frost with 4-inch inch long spikes of flowers composed of tightly packed deep red filiments, highlighted with yellow tipped anthers -- thus giving this group its "bottlebrush" name tag.
Prefers full sun and need ample space to develop. Is drought-tolerant one established.
