Chamaedorea radicalis
Y05-58 — Zone 8b to 10— Northeastern Mexico
Hardy feather palm! This small feather palm has elegant arching black-green leaves?striking when planted in light acid-green foliage. Its bright-red fruit adds drama to dark shady areas of the garden in mid-to-late summer. Nestled among ferns, false red agave, and buckeye in our garden, it has grown to 3' in five years.

Notes and observations about this plant
- In fine shape by Elaine Dill
- When I moved the palm to another spot in my garden this spring (it was potted), I found that a number of seeds had germinated around the pot, and all the transplants made it through the summer of 2011 in fine shape. (Posted on 10/5/11)

I bought 4 and they survived 100 hrs below freezing, in Dallas, during the winter of 2010/2011. I was pleasantly shocked! There was some browning/spotting of leaves but they looked fine by summer.

- I bought two of these from you about ten years ago in Hempstead. They were planted in shade below magnolias. They live through some really tough cold spells in Dallas (Posted on 11/20/10)
