Upright Med Fan! The Mediterranean Fan Palm grows over a fairly wide range around the Mediterranean region. With a wide range come variant forms. Most Med Fans produce multiple trunks with many of the more commonly cultivated forms developing into low, dense, shrub-like mounds, where the radiating offsets are produced relatively early in the development of the plant. The form offered here holds it leaves more upright and develops its central trunk faster. The radiating offsets are produced once the central trunk has gained some height, thus allowing the plant to have a more open appearance. With time the plant will have noticeably individual trunks, not just appearing to be one indistinguishable mound.
