Crinum x 'Hannibals's Dwarf'
Hannibal's Dwarf
I love the lush dark green foliage, especially since it is compact and tidy. This vigorous plant could be used as a ground cover in sunny, moist areas because of its low profile and multiplying nature. All this and I have not even mentioned the flowers - unbelievable clear orchid-pink, beautiful and highly fragrant. You will not find much on this plant in the reference books, as it seems to have flown under the radar screen of the bulb collectors.
Tony Avent of Plant Delights Nursery reports that he spoke to Les Hannibal about the parentage and Les thought it was C. moorei and C. americanum cross but was not sure. He never named it so the descriptive account became its proper name by default. This Crinum lily is one of the best!
