Dioon edule -- Rio Verde form
Y00-81 — Zone 8b to 10— eastern Mexico
The Rio Verde region in San Luis Potosi is very moist and humid. These plants grow in the deep shade of a subtropical forest. We have noted that they have wider leaflets than those of typical Dioon edule var. angustifolia found in northern Mexico. Little is known of these plants at Rio Verde that have been tentatively classified with Dioon edule.
