Drimiopsis saundersiae 'Sunny Smile'
D25-233 — Zone 9 to 10— Garden origin
This Drimiopsis looks very much like what we sell as D. kirkii but the new growth emerges a lemon-cream color. As the leaves age they eventually turn an olive-green speckled with darker green spots. During the transition from new to old, portions of leaves are ageing at different rates, so streaks of lemon-cream occur next to olive-green. With time you have a bi-tonal effect that makes for very sweet eye-candy indeed.
