Gloriosa superba

Gloriosa lily! This lily tends to grow as an informal vine, rambling up through and over neighboring shrubs and perennials. It does not twine up using its stems like most vines, but lets its glossy, dark-green, leaves do all of the work. The tips curl and wrap around small twigs and stems as the plant extends upward and onward. The flowers are wonderfully exotic and are composed of 6 narrow, undulating, 5 in. long petals that are yellow and orange, curving back to dramatically expose and promote to pollinators all of its floral organs.
