Manfreda undulata 'Chocolate Chips'

T42-23 — Zone 8a to 10Mexico

Chocolate Chip Manfreda! Over ten years ago Carl collected seed from some Manfreda undulata plants in Mexico. This particular population had very wavy leaves that were heavily spotted. From the original seed collected a few seeds germinated and the resulting seedlings had great spots and pronounced wavy leaf margins. One was particularly well spotted and was selected for trial. The plant has been a survivor and has done very well but offsets painfully slowly. We recently put this plant into tissue culture because the folks that have managed to find it in the nursery always want to buy it but until now it has been unavailable.
