Marsilea macropoda
Y06-14 — Zone 8 to 10— Texas
Large-foot pepperwort! This creeping fern with clover-like leaves makes a great groundcover in full-sun. The foliage color is a soft gray-green with a silver sheen that is caused by the light catching the long hair-like protrusions at right angles. It is an aggressive spreader, so place it where you can control its advance. Perfect for enclosed beds where a tough evergreen is needed. Only during extreme cold or drought will the 4 in. - 6 in. tall foliage dry up and disappear; but when warm weather or rains resume, it springs back.
