Blue beargrass tree! These giant tree-like nolinas are a sight to behold. In northeastern Mexico, you see this species growing in desert regions, towering above the surrounding thorn scrub and cactus. The 1 1/2" wide blue-gray leaves can reach 4' long, and are gathered together in a rosette resembling a yucca, but with more flexible leaves. Nelson's beargrass reaches heights of 20' or more, developing multiple heads with age.
