Trachelospermum asiaticum 'Theta'
Needle leaf jasmine! A number if years ago we got a start of this Asian Jasmine from the fellows at Cistus Design in Portland, Oregon. We liked the very narrow foliage quite a bit but decide to trial it for a while to see if it could take Texas extremes. We have been pleased with its growth form and durability and think you will too. The individual leaves are on average 1/8 in. wide x 1-1/4 in. long and dark green with a silver-green zone down the center of each leaf. With time the plant will spread and make a ground cover that has an almost lawn-like effect. A great ground hugger that is complementary to bulbs and bold leafy succulent type plants—a unique selection of the species. This cultivar was named in honor of Sean Hogan's Mother, Theta Hogan.
