Welcome to Yucca Do Nursery

Trichocereus aff. angelesii

D24-49 — Zone 9 to 10Salta Province, Argentina

When we encountered these plants in the wild it was quite an impressive sight. The massive colonies of cylindrical, spiny stems seemed analogous to a den of angry vipers. The way they arched out and seemed to ramble about, crisscrossing each other and sprawling in every direction gave the plant colony a sense of motion. If these plants could express emotion they would seem to exhibit an angst and tension. Struggling against some unseen tyrannical force that anchors them to the ground. Fortunately these seemingly tortured souls were firmly rooted in their arid habitat, where we could freely walk about them and safely enjoy them whether they were at peace or not. This species blooms at night with white flowers.
