Vitex agnus-castus 'Montrose Purple'

Chaste Tree! 'Montrose Purple' is an outstanding selection from the Garden of Nancy Goodwin in Hillsbough, North Carolina. This form is better in all respects - with large, deep blue-purple flowers and showy candelabra-like flower spikes. The extended flowering season combined with foliage that is broader and more substantial make this an all-time favorite. This beautiful small tree is tolerant of heat and drought - tough as nails.

The intensity of the blue/purple of the flowers can vary from season to season. The most intense color is usually occurs during the milder temperature months and can be less intense during extreme heat or if the plant is grown in too much shade.
