x Graptoveria 'Vera Higgins'
Y01-64 — Zone 7b to 9— -
Vera Higgins or not! This Graptoveria is a plant we stumbled onto while visiting an Austin nursery. The Texas climate is hostile to members of the crassula family and when we find one that does well, we immediately get excited. This plant has an overall growth habit similar to Graptopetalum paraguense but the leaves are narrower and thicker, almost cylindrical upon first appearance. It has performed well in part and full sun and has taken drought, flood and freezing to 3 degrees. We have not confirmed the name - any objections?

Notes and observations about this plant
- Great in Upstate SC by Fred Siler
- I grow this plant in the Upstate of SC. This plant is a great groundcover for the Xeriscape or otherwise. I grow it as a ground cover around a large Agave and some cacti. I also grow it in strawberry pots left outside year round. It has survived lows of 11F twice during a wet winter with snow twice. (Posted on 3/31/11)
