Canna indica

Species Canna! This species Canna produces small, cheerful, cardinal-red flowers in abundance over a long bloom season. Flowers can initiate quite early in the season (April), when the canes are only about 18" tall but as the season progresses new canes continue to develop (gaining greater heights progressively up to 6' through the season), as long as there is good moisture and warm conditions. If conditions are suitable the plant can bloom up until frost, but if the weather turns uber hot, in the middle of summer, the plant can pause blooming until temperatures moderate. Removal of spent canes encourages continued blooming and also removes developing seed pods. Note: Offered here are Bare-root rhizomes.
